Spring 2012 Short Film Contest: MOBILIZE!

Attention all Mason filmmakers!

We are excited to extend a "Call for Entries" for the Global Program's first short film contest. This spring, our topic will center on STUDENT ACTIVISM. We are seeking short films, no longer than 3:00 minutes in duration, to be shown during the film festival on April 12th, between 1:00 and 4:00pm, in the Johnson Center Dewberry Lobby.

Contest Guidelines

  • Create a short film on the topic of student activism, whatever that means to you.
  • Films may contain:
    • Animation
    • Live action
    • Photos
    • Music
    • Documentary
    • All styles and ideas will be accepted
  • Films may be submitted by individuals and teams
  • Film duration: no more than 3:00 minutes

Submission Guidelines

Films may be submitted via the following methods:

  • YouTube or Vimeo - upload your film to YouTube or Vimeo and email the link to gmuglobalprograms@gmail.com. Be sure to include your name and contact information in the email.
  • DVD - submit your film in DVD format to the Global Programs office: Robinson Hall B, room 456. Again, be sure to include your name and contact information with the DVD.

All entries will be eligible for cash prizes!

Films will be reviewed by a panel of Mason students and faculty and winners will be selected in multiple categories. The film receiving the top award will also be shown in the Johnson Center Cinema at the conclusion of the film festival on April 12th.
