This historical documentary tells the little-known story of Ralph Carr, who was the Governor of Colorado from 1939-1943. Governor Carr was a passionate defender of Japanese Americans' rights when people of Japanese ancestry, including many American citizens, were relocated to internment camps in 1942.The documentary also shares the experiences of Japanese Americans affected by the internment and the challenges of the time.

Mr. Adam Schrager, journalist and author of The Principled Politician: The Ralph Carr Story, will provide an introduction to the film and answer questions about Governor Carr after the screening of The Untold Story of Ralph Carr and the Japanese.

Adam Schrager works at Wisconsin Public Television as a reporter and producer. In more than 15 years in the business, he has won numerous broadcast journalism accolades, including more than a dozen Emmy awards.
